Dinner from my school’s dining hall!   7元 gets you two vegetarian dishes and one meat, along with a heap of rice.

It tastes way better than it looks.  On the left, there’s some sort of pork/cucumber concoction.  In the center we’ve got fried egg and tomatoes, and on the right is soft tofu in a tangy peanut sauce.

Every day there are tons of options to choose from, all much healthier than the American college food I ate when I was in school.  The kids here complain about the food—it’s not as good as their mother’s home cooking.  Meanwhile, I feel spoiled to have access to some simple Sichuan fare at a really cheap price.
